Track what's new, improved, and fixed in Smart EPD v2.

Platform Update -June 2026​

Improvements delivered across April–June 2026. This update focuses on the verification experience, AI-assisted conformance, EPD authoring, and collaboration.

Verification & review​

  • End-to-end verifier review for both LCA and EPDs -EPD review now matches the LCA review flow, with a redesigned verifier workflow covering routing, assignments, and resubmissions
  • Spec-derived verification checklists -checklists are generated from the resolved specification (including inherited requirements) and drive both LCA and EPD review
  • Cleaner checklist layout -simplified, sticky checklist chrome with informational and system-enforced filters, plus a "jump to section" picker for long EPDs
  • Per-field annotations -verifiers can leave annotations directly on individual EPD fields via a floating popover
  • Findings you can act on -a freeform findings panel for verifiers and a dedicated resolve-findings screen for manufacturers on both LCA and EPD
  • Clearer back-and-forth -non-conformance comment threads are now visible to manufacturers, and verifier replies show on the manufacturer's side; resubmissions are handled cleanly

AI conformance analysis​

  • AI conformance checks on EPDs and LCAs -automated conformance analysis surfaces likely issues before a verifier reviews
  • Conformance analysis for manufacturers -a conformance modal lets manufacturers run and review AI analysis on their own EPDs, with high-confidence non-conformance hints highlighted
  • Evidence and citations -AI findings link to the specific supporting document and auto-navigate to the cited page
  • Fresh results on resubmit -conformance re-runs automatically when an EPD or LCA is resubmitted, scoped to open requirements and what changed
  • Progress visibility -real progress bars on AI analysis banners while a run is in flight

EPD authoring & templates​

  • Richer form authoring -spec-driven forms with a new rich-text editor (including tables), plant picker with map preview, EC3 category search, cover-page style previews, and reusable text/image/table content blocks
  • Results entry that scales -multi-sheet results template download/upload and copy/paste of results matrices straight from Excel or Google Sheets
  • Results conventions -toggle between EN 15804+A2 and ISO 21930 reporting conventions
  • Variant & reference EPDs -create variant EPDs from a reference, with template-level constraints and locked-field validation
  • Target dates -optional target-date tracking on EPDs and LCAs

Digital EPD & PDF​

  • Redesigned digital EPD view -a premium, spec-driven layout for the read-only digital EPD
  • PDF parity -generated PDFs render with the same content and editorial styling as the digital view

Collaboration​

  • In-context chat -real-time discussion threads on LCA submissions, EPD reviews, and LCA verification, with per-user unread tracking
  • Document annotations -annotate uploaded LCA documents during review

Notifications​

  • Topic-aware notifications -subscribe by topic, with cooldown and per-recipient caps to cut down on noise

API & integrations​

  • Workspace-scoped API keys -issue API keys scoped to a single workspace
  • Downloadable OpenAPI spec -grab the full V2 OpenAPI specification from the docs site
  • Plant API for integrators -programmatic access to plant data
  • Import V1 EPDs into V2 -bring existing EPDs across, with optional submittal bundling
  • Expanded public API documentation

Organizations, workspaces & access​

  • Sub-organizations -organization invites, cross-org access grants, and an org switcher
  • One-click invite acceptance -smoother onboarding with hardened invite/auth-code handling
  • Switch between Classic and V2 -always-visible navigation links to move between the Classic and V2 experiences
  • Submittal packages -bundle EPDs into submittals for downstream consumers
  • Project renaming -non-owner project editors can rename projects

Bug fixes & reliability​

  • Conformance results no longer show a misleading "no issues" state before the checklist finishes loading
  • Empty optional sections are correctly hidden during review (no more "ghost" review steps)
  • Secure, presigned file downloads for EPD documents and supporting files
  • Magic-link sign-in emails now always use HTTPS; email footers show the correct current year
  • Several authorization and access-isolation fixes across organization-to-organization sharing and verification
  • Numerous onboarding fixes: invite-accept errors, no-organization recovery, and rate-limiting

v2.0.0-beta -March 2026​

Initial release of the Smart EPD v2 platform.

Highlights​

  • New organizational model -Organizations, Workspaces, and Categories replace the flat project structure
  • Specification engine with inheritance -Layered specification system where standards flow into PCR-level specifications, resolving into versioned EPD Templates
  • Streamlined verification -Tool/model verification at the project level (via LCA and template review) enables scalable variant EPD production without per-EPD review
  • API-first integration -Full workflow available via REST API for tool providers and automated pipelines
  • Redesigned v2 interface -A fully new web UI is being built alongside the v2 API and will be released together
